Does Dry Ice work to destroy a dangerous Ground Yellow Jacket Nest? In this video we use CO2 to deal with an aggressive nest. Next time I am going to pour liquid nitrogen down the hole.
Thanks for watching. Next time I find a dangerous yellow jacket nest we are going to try liquid nitrogen
Shawn, you are the Doctor Mengele of pest control....
Have you thought of using something to trap the yellow jackets in a confined space so that they won't attack you or escape? Like that dome thing they use to keep those flies in that prey on fire ants.
Next time... Dry ice plus a 5 gallon bucket on top. Then sit on the bucket (with your suit on of course.) I think I'd add a little wasp spray to the inside of the bucket, too.
Oh, that will be fun!
What is a yellowjacket?
When he put the lid back on the bottle he crushed one heeheehheheh
war crimes! it's ok it's on wasps
My grandfather put a plastic bag over the nest in a tree. We brought it to school. The larvae hatched over the weekend and room was full of wasps. It was winter so the janitor opened the windows and shut off the heat. Ten minutes later no problem.
Omg this is why the bee population is going down so rude
Honestly the cold is probably more dangerous than the normally-occurring-in-the-atmosphere CO2.
Id stick 200 grams of flash powder down there with a long fuse.
Jesus Christ this is brutal, nice vid!
Seems a lot of the CO2 just blew away in the wind. Maybe some container for the ice to melt in, with a tube at output?
Put a big chunk of dry ice on the entrance at night, after they are all back inside sleeping.
Yellow jacket? Was that the bees in Hunger Games movie?
Do this at night for greater success!!
“I’m just gonna very calmly place the dry ice right there on the entrance” **proceeds to shove it on**
You should try some isopropyl alcohol and a lighter 👌
I thought they attacked things when they let out co2 bit the fact they went for you and the camera over the PURE co2 kinda disproves that
F in chat for that one Yellow jacket who got crushed 3:22
I was tryna figure out y u aint put the suit on in the 1st place
3:22 one of them is stucked 😱😱
Don't worry people life will find the way.
Male Wasp: 🗣YOUUU MFER😠 Female Wasp: sumone plz think of tha children😰
I hate that this would be illegal here in Germany. These motherfuckers are the assholes of the animal kingdom. So are mosquitoes but they at least have a reason to sting/bite you.
They are a delicacy here, all you need is the bee larvae, ginger, water, salt and a chunk of boiled rice to cook with, superrr delicious soup🤣🤣🤣
Should have put the dry ice down and then a trashcan lid over the top.
Your brothers neighbor doesn't know how much money you make 😎
Lmao I love this comment section.
Seems to me it would have been more effective if you had put a bucket over the entrance to contain the insects and hold in the gas.
Just let nature be...
@Travis Ryno you’re absolutely right! However, the thought of getting rid of them that way is pretty harsh. I love bees 🐝
You really don't want those near your home
Liquid nitrogen next!
Imagine disliking the video lol
cast them with molten aluminium and have a trophy to terrorise other yellowjacket
That hardly seems sporting
Use Liquid nitrogen next time
I'm just going to very calmly put the dry ice on the entrance Proceeds to shove 15 pieces of dry ice very vigorously all the way down the hole
He called it, a skunk came. The Stank Badger
Spongebob: jelly fishing
*Accidentally grabs dry ice with ungloved hand*
CO2 makes them sleep. They will wake up.
I HATE SCUNKS
Genocide but it’s legal
I've used a similar method to knock out spiders and extract their venom.
Pour 2 large pots of boiling water on the nest, they die faster.
Gasoline and a match🤷🏾♂️
Shawn used dry ice. Neutral effect. I loved the fact he ripped the hive out with his hands like a piece of chicken.
Dry ice, eh? I prefer gasoline and a match.

I found a ground nest in my yard also but there were way less than what you have. My brother and I got stung once each. His was from getting too close to examine them, and mine was from trying to deal with them. It took me two or three tries of different ideas and products to finally eradicate them. I do find them interesting but just being so close to the house, they were dangerous for the people around
Aww the babyyyyy
Wait hold up, he had an anti sting vest yet he decides to put it on after throwing dry ice into the hole?
Dude there are better ways, hundreds
Let me place this camera on the OTHER side on the road... sure that won’t backfire
Never send ice to do fire's job
I hope when you see the creator of all things he does you in the same light of stupidity
Definitely from Florida
Yellow Jacket ASMR Video 0-0 Bet
What was the problem with them living in the side of the road... I don’t care about you killing them I was just wondering
Probably because they stung him every time he mowed the grass
That skunk in his head is like Whoohoo jackpot
Why are you killing them ? Leave them alone !
Georgia Tech would be so mad with you! 🐝
I’m allergic to bees and wasps but for some reason I’m so interested in them and I’m not scared of them as much as I probably should be 😂 I have had so many wasps crawl under my glasses and chill on my eyeballs this year which is weird to say but it’s true and I just sit there and let them crawl on my face till there done simsimsissmaimamahabtatvatba
I'm surprised you didn't put something to serve as a lid over the dry ice you placed. Step 1: place ice, Step 2: quickly place a glass bowl or something on top of it. It'd ensure the wind doesn't just carry all the CO2 away, right?
Why so many dislikes?
You put the dry ice on the entrance, and then over it with a bucket, so that the CO2 gas won't escape.
Stick w soapy h20
And nothing like encouraging skunks to come to your place. Not smart.
Putting a bucket over the dry ice would work so much h better
Puts on his suit after he got stung ,this guys a genius...👍
brake cleaner works very well for me....
Liquid nitrogen next
Deploying tactical anti oxygen!
Deploying gas grenade.
I'm just going to put this dry ice in this sealed jar full of angry bees... *BOOM* - Now you have a bomb AND angry bees blown out of it.
0:04 yes that was definetly calmly
3:19 That one stuck at the lid: [femur breaker scream]
Next time on my list of things I’ll never do.....I would’ve just stuck a small stick of dynamite down there and blew the thing to kingdom come
I’m just gonna go head and put on my beesuit *Fades out of Existence*
You should have done it at night when they are asleep and you should have put a plastic tub over to make sure the nest was engulfed in carbon dioxide.
How to ineffectively kill yellow jackets
Lol the baby cracked me up!
There is some guards right at the entrance 😂😂 what fool?!
“I’m gonna very calmly put the dry ice on the entrance” - yeets ice on hole in a clear panic-
We just park a push lawnmower over a hornet hole and let it run through a tank of gas. Then soapy water or used motor oil.
I randomly clicked this video and I was this really sounds like the mousetrap guy.....LOL
My method works well and I've never been stung as it kills the guards too. Take one half cup of ammonia and one half cup of bleach and simultaneously pour the two into the hole. They immediately make Chloramine gas and it is deadly to humans too so don't breathe any of it. Best part is it is all biodegradable and the grass will grow greener where the nest was.
Flamethrower would be more effective
1:36 youtuber (I'm gonna calmly place the ice) and runnnnnnnnnnnn
“I’m gonna very calmly place the dry ice”. Lol calm and genocide are 2 worlds that I never thought would go together.
You have to put a bowl or a bucket over the dry ice and nest for it to work best.
ME PUTS SOMETHING IN THERE BEE NEST RUN 2 FT AWAY
Liquid co2 from a blower might work. Comes out at pressure and is freezing cold. Like what they use to carbonate soda. Get a co2 tank with a dip tube and a hose
It works 10x better if you add water to the dry ice....just pour it on.
why not cover the ice with a bucket!
When I was about 13, I was hiking with my stepbrother and he stepped on one of these nests. 18 stings later, I learned why wasps suck. This video was awesome lol
am i the only one wondering how effective a clear container over dry ice and hole to keep the CO2 from blowing away would be in comparison?
You probably shouldve put a bucket over the nest for better results.
You lay on a sheet of Dry ice you going to sleep also !
So like a yellow jacket popsicle.
You’re better off with soapy water.
