Kong gonna need some serious plot armor to beat Godzilla. And it seems like they’re gonna give it to him. Atomic breath is a city level attack. Being able to rank that raises Kong’s endurance to such an extent that the previous enemies he fought on Skull Island would be the equivalent of mosquitoes to him. I understand he was a juvenile and grew 4x bigger. But his strength and endurance would have had to increase hundreds of times over to face Godzilla.

Yo, if they’re going to have some bigger, harder mofo then it can easily be 4 decisions on the off chance the movie puts on another antagonist: Theory 1, MechaGodzilla: Say Monarch was planning on making a contingency to simulate a Godzilla humans can control (not a wise idea). Make an imitation of the king and perhaps take the figurative nuke out of the equation. Now that Big G is back to his rampaging ways somehow, MechaGodzilla will need to be rushed to completion, so as a distraction, send Kong to soften up Godzilla. Then make the mech duke out with the king and take his place, if that is possible. Theory 2, MechaGhidorah: Those terroristo guys from the prior movie got away with their schemes scot free so it would be nice to have them get their comeuppance. Idk how but maybe make their last resort to purify Earth with their own mech using the head of Ghidorah left behind to cause mayhem while the big boys battle. Theory 3, Destroyah: The very birth of this thing was from the Oxygen-destroyer, a weapon I don’t need to tell anyone about sue to “King of the Monsters”.
